I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DOOOOO!!! AHHH!! Ahem. Let me explain.
I was playing the Kook family trying to get enough screenshots to release a few chapters at once and Kenneth's Elder birthday came along. However, when it was time for Kenneth to age up he started his birthday (cheering, clapping etc.) then just stopped. Cold turkey. Then I got a pop up saying "NRaas.GoHere Script Error Kenneth Kook". Grrrrr. :(
So I didn't save, quit the game, reloaded. Same thing. Double grrr. :x So then I took out every single mod I had installed, reloaded to a previous save, threw Kenneth a birthday party and gave him a cake hoping he would now age up.
Unfortunately it didn't work. Not only did he start a fire, he cancelled the age up action as well. He still seems to be glitched because while he can do stuff, he can't "Sleep" in any bed either, just "Nap". Whenever I tell him to Sleep the action cancels and he resets to a different spot. He can do everything else though (except age up). That seems a little weird to me but that's what happens.
So now I don't know what to do. I REALLY want to keep the Kooks going with out having to start over. Does anyone have a suggestion? I was thinking of pulling him into CAS, making him an Elder and just keep playing from there (taking a point hit for "cheating" if needed). Any thoughts? :?
I had this exact same glitch in another one of my games but it was when a child was becoming a teen. Even with the inability to sleep. What I had to do was go into a save from before the first birthday action, enter CAS, save to the bin, make a new family but age her up from a child to a teen in CAS as well as a throwaway adult, merge them with my family, use mastercontroler to add the new version to the family tree and remove the bugged version from the family tree, and then kick out the old version and the adult. I could not find any other way around it and I searched quite a bit.
It's a bit trickier though with him being an adult going to elder. He'd lose all his relationships, skill points, lifetime rewards, etc. I wouldn't personally count it as cheating if you were to do the above but write down/take screenshots of all his skills and whatnot and then use mastercontroler/cheats to put him back the way he was as best as possible.
