Jealousy problems

Hi everyone ๐Ÿ˜ I have a problem. I'm actually having a family where I'm cheating on the spouse but the romantic interest accuse my sim of cheating and the relationship went down๐Ÿคจ
Basically a romantic interest isn't a real relationship but why it acts like it's a real one ? I would like to know if there's a way to remove jealousy for romantic interests

There is a no jealousy lifetime reward you can buy. I'm pretty sure it came with the base game as I used to use it a lot when I first started playing. But it applies to all relationships. Children might grow up to hate the cheating parent though.

@Karritz - Can confirm 'No Jealousy' did not come with the Base Game. It had to have come somewhere between the World Adventures and Late Night expansion (my guess).

@dfxblock - I have never used the 'No Jealousy' LTR so, I cannot say how it works. I trust Karritz's word that it does. The 'Romantic Interest', from what I understand of how this game works, is best used for lifetime wishes where multiple partners are needed to fulfill the goal such as 'Heartbreaker'. Romantic Interests will always behave as if they are in a 'committed' relationship when it comes to Sims, as there is no difference between breaking up with a romantic interest, partner or spouse.

Maybe, it would be better to have your Sim cheat with one who has the 'Commitment Issue' trait. Those Sims could care less and have no time for 'hurt' feelings over shared or souring relationships.
  • The No Jealousy LTR comes with the WA expansion. :)

Just to clarify, it's the sim who is cheating (or rather, the one who is playing around in this case) who requires the LTR. Not the ones who would be jealous.

@igazor - Just a toss-out question but, what sense does that make?

The person who is doing the cheating -- doesn't get jealous? Jealous of what?

I would think the Sim initiating the cheating act would have other things on their 'agenda'. Becoming jealous of their partner-in-crime wouldn't be one of them. Or, who exactly is it they may become jealous of if not their co-cheater?

    Maybe I am misunderstanding this.
  • @mw1525 - The No Jealousy LTR, when it's working as intended, grants the sim who has it immunity from the repercussions of their actions that would otherwise lead to jealousy. Their Romantic Interests and partner, if they have one, won't be jealous of them. Reputation hits can still be a thing though, there is no control over what the nosy neighbors across the street or other busybodies in town might think whether there is any truth to their allegations or not.

Sorry if that still doesn't seem logical, but I didn't design this silly game. I'm just passing through here. :)

Sims with the "No Jealousy" LTR can be really hypocritical. They can have 25 romantic interests, and nobody cares, but see them go ballistic if the spouse does as much as flirt with another sim.

The negative effects with children can also come from the celebrity disgrace system. If you really want to have peace, you have to nip that one in the bud.
