Joining acting career

I KNOW for a fact I have had a Sim join the film career but I can't for the life of me find where to do it in my current city. I've tried the theater, performance park, I even added an "event center" for "large events" and the option isn't there. Please help me and Thomas Hanks figure this out! He wants to be a superstar!
