I actually would rather they didn't interact with the burglar because I have had issues in the past when my sims have tried to fight with him/her and become glitched afterwards. Every sim in the house will drop what they are doing just to run to the sim who got in the fight. They will even wake up and run to the sim. Annoying and can only be stopped by a MC reset which I hate doing to a sim I have been playing for a while.
