Hi there!
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but it definitely seems relevant after seeing this really helpful thread. So yes, I am looking for a new laptop and I am indeed the most brilliant person when it comes to computing (sarcasm). But I do know that graphics cards are pretty important when it comes to playing the sims 3 in great quality, and that's just what I want to get. A laptop that will play the sims 3 well at the highest settings?
Since you made this really great thread and seem to know a lot of useful things about laptops and such. Could you maybe help me out on suggestions for laptops to invest in that would meet my simming needs? :-)
~ Thanks in Advance
Sorry for the late reply. Of course, I'm open to help! I'm really glad you found this thread helpful :) And I'll accept your friend request as soon as this messed up site allows me :/ Anyhoo, I'd firstly like to ask for your budget and if Sims 3 will be the only game you'll be playing. Listing all your expansion and stuff packs would be nice too :)
No not at all, it was probably quicker than any other threads I wait for responds on :) Okay! Yeah mine is still like that too, when will they fix it grr >.< Eh my budget would be around a maximum of £500 as I can't really afford a proper gaming one. But yes, I would only play sims 3 on it. The expansion packs being - Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Seasons, Pets, (Maybe University Life when it comes, and I don't really use any stuff packs. :)
Oh and I thought I should mention that on my last computer I played the sims 3, Seasons worked fine until weather occured and it went all laggy. So I would hope for a laptop that wouldn't have this problem? :3
This might http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Aspire-V3-571G-15-6-inch-Laptop/dp/B009R15FCQ/ref=pd_sim_sbs_computers_2 Not sure highest, but likely high with a medium or two (basing this on my 525M which is not as strong as the 630M. In this thread you will see what settings I can play at).

I'm in the US...but if you check the UK version of Newegg or Tiger Direct (if there is one) then you might be able to find a laptop with a nVidia 630M or 640M and an i5 3210 in your price range. There may be an AMD card in a laptop in that price range that woud do so I am giving you a link to a site that may help you find one...
Here is a helpful site for reviews and a list of laptop cards http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-630M.63761.0.html
Good Luck!
