Life Fruit

Can Sims randomly get one of these from gardening because my Sim has a small garden with 2 tomato plants and 2 grapevines with a fence around them since a deer ate one of the tomato plants and also an apple tree on the outside of the fenced part. Anyways, I noticed a life fruit in my Sims inventory and assume she must have gotten it from gardening since she didn't pick one up from anywhere else. I never had a Life Fruit show up in my Sims inventory before, do they have any special effect if a Sim eats one?
  • I looked through the comments on Carl's article and someone mentioned that you can get life fruit as part of the Science career and I'm pretty sure that's happened to me too. Other ideas: does your sim explore the mausoleum regularly or pick up special seeds and plant them?
  • In my case, my sim is a teen, also he has level 7 at gardening skill but he got a life fruit as well as 3 other vegetables. Looked like he got these from gardening opportunity. I can’t remember exactly which opportunity card gave him the fruit. After he gave some products to the restaurant, then he got one very nice life fruit and other 3 horrifying vegetables in his inventory. He is not working at the science career.

I found it in sims wiki. The opportunity was a bag of produce.

Oh, I see. That's interesting you can get a Life Fruit from doing a gardening opportunity too. I haven't done very many of those gardening opportunities but sometimes when my Sims get a bunch of opportunities and some of them are usually ones that you are suppose to complete within a certain time frame. I'm not always very good at remembering to do them and then I get a message knocking me on the head for not completing it but usually I might get the same opportunities again later and have another chance to complete it the second time around.
  • @Simmer2500: Here's a link for life fruit in Sims3. https://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/skills/gardening/plants/lifefruit.php

Thanks for the info. I don't remember for sure what level of gardening skill my Sim has but if you have to either find a Life Fruit plant or seeds in certain places to get one then I don't know how I ended up with one in my Sims inventory. I guess must have just got lucky. I guess if you don't have the special ingredients and full cooking skill to be able to make Ambrosia with the Life Fruit then just eating it on it's own to add one day to a Sims life span could still be good if they are getting near the end of their life span though not quite as good as fully resetting it to the beginning of it I suppose.

Oh, I see. Well, it so happens that my Sim is in the Science career as a level 7 Genetic Resequencer. So that probably must be how I ended up with a Life Fruit in my Sims inventory.
