You can do that or there are two other options:
Paint. You open up your screenshot in paint and use the text tool, make sure it's transparent and not the white box and then write away
Or, Photobucket allows you to edit the screenshot (once it's uploaded) and you can even add text (I believe it's under Decorations??) Make sure you use the transparency (there is a box to check) and write away.
