Lucky Palms or Sunlit Tides?

I’m finally back in to sims 3 again after receiving a new gaming pc for Mother’s Day. I’m purchasing some of the worlds since I have all the packs I want. Isla Paradiso is still so laggy even with my new pc I want something similar. I either want to purchase Lucky Palms or Sunlit Tides. If you own these which is your fav and why? Any info would help!
  • Isla Paradiso can be fixed so that it doesn't lag, or only lags a tiny bit—mods clean up the last bit but aren't strictly necessary to play there. @ciane uploaded a fixed IP for people to use, and also documented the edits she made for players who'd rather do it themselves, or who would like to keep playing their ongoing save rather than starting from scratch.

I'd personally go with Sunlit Tides because I think it's prettier. It's also cheaper: 1,127 points on the Daily Deal. Serenity Retreat, the venue that comes with the gold version of Sunlit Tides, is 513 points at its cheapest Daily Deal price, and it comes with the massage table and the outdoor shower. So you could essentially buy the gold version and still have points left over to spend on something else.

If you want to track Daily Deal sales, this is a very useful thread:

You can also ask for advice there; the regulars are happy to help people figure out how to get the most of their points and plan the sales they want to catch. And there's a spreadsheet, linked in the second post in that thread, with the times and dates of all the deals as well:

I know a lot of people like Lucky Palms, but I'd have to favor Sunlit Tides as I really love the water (though you have house boats that don't move in Lucky Palms).
  • Sunlit Tides. I love beaches and tropical landscapes in real life, so I also love them in real life.

It really does have those vibes! I really like Lucky Palms as well.
  • Will you consider the custom world? As the most of store worlds only have the base game feature plus a special venue. If you want to play in the store world with EP’s venues. You need to edit the world by yourself later. Furthermore, the water of Sunlit Tides is not deep enough for sailing of boathouses, even this is fine to add boathouse with pier.
Unless you really want some items from these two world (except the casino and retreat which can be purchased separately). I suggest you to get a custom world instead.

I have trouble understanding the bolded sentence, but if you mean that it's impossible to use houseboats in Sunlit Tides I can tell you that's not true.
Proof can be seen in this thread.
  • I'd say Sunlit Tides. That's because I enjoy the tropics more than the desert and when I first got it I used it as replacement for laggy Isla Paradiso. I've since learned how to fix Isla Paradiso so you can play it.
