I'm far from a makeup expert in real life. I can't even draw two winged eyes to save my life, that doesn't stop me from looking at (and buying) expensive stuff though :lol:
I highly agree with Cororon that it's all about the colours and transparency. I don't think I ever use something at full opacity. I like to combine different blushes and lips to get a unique effect too. My sims normally wear 2-3 lipsticks with varying opacity to get the right colour. I can also layer 5 different blushes on with no problem as they target different areas of the face. My sims (like me) aren't very dressy or over the top so I'm all about the natural looking makeup. Even Pralinesims and Tifa makeup which I'm not the greatest fan of but at 20% opacity it can look great.
Edit: There is no one-fits-all eyeliner either, at least in my experience. Some of the Gosik ones come out too far for my liking so it's just about finding one that suits a sim's eye shape. Sometimes less is more :smile:
