Part Two
Alice and Adam head back to the Manor so they will not be late for the meeting with her parents. Alice leads him around the side of the house to the shed. With a wave of her hand she dispels the magic hiding the staircase. Adam enjoys watching Alice weave her magic and thinks that hiding a staircase or any other object must come in handy for the family. Alice tells him the basement and cellars are extensive and have been a refuge from hunters in past years. They enter the living area and Adam sees that Gardenia is settled comfortably on the settee, while Victor looks very imposing sitting behind his desk. They sit on a small sofa facing Victor.
