MK's Decoration Challenge!

As part of my Legacy gameplay, it isn't just the family that changes with the generations. The house grows along with the family and transforms over the years. It started out as literally a bed, wall, and toilet, as the Legacy Challenge usually tends to starts out. Every generation, the house goes through some major renovations. I am now raising the 5th generation, and I am ready to update this beauty. I am looking for your help, though. I have realized that I suck at decorating. I have no issue mapping out a floor plan, but color schemes don't seem to be my thing. What I want to do, is invite people to a design and decorating challenge.

Below, you will find each room, it's dimensions, and special instructions for each. I do also have pictures to accompany them, as there are a few that are odd shapes and also in order to show where the doors and windows are located. You will find these at the link below (if the images don't automatically display in this post.) You will find in the images that certain areas can be adjusted to a different set of dimensions if you find it works better for the area (ie: the girls rooms, master suite, etc.) When you have completed your creations, please send it over to me via email at genestmk@gmail.com or DM. Please include images as well as any explanations and link to any CC used. If you have any questions, please ask!!

Thank you so much for helping me out with this and I look forward to what you guys can come up with! If this turns out to be a success, I will do more of these in the future!

  • It looks like a great floor plan. I may play with your house a bit.

Also there are lots of color palette generators or sample color palettes on line.
Here's one that lets you decide if you want complimentary or analogous color schemes, among others, and lets you play with the hues to get colors you really love - soft, strong, etc.

In case anyone is interested, there IS cc attached to this lot, to include the arezza bathroom counter; but, this one is the safe left version, rather than the right.

For those who do NOT want cc in their sims 3 folder, it is possible to rename your sims 3 folder and install this lot in a new sims 3 folder. Then, just copy over the library file to the old sims 3 folder OR just decorate the house in the new sims 3 folder. Then, you can always delete the new sims 3 folder when you finish and rename the old one back to sims 3 again.
