hi @LondonRainbows and welcome pull your sims 3 folder to the desktop and try launching a test game, save if this works.
path my documents/electronic arts/ sims 3
you can start moving back old files to the new but test each move to see if any are corrupted. also do your installed items last that is the dccache file. if your game runs fine until then you know you either have too much stuff or something is corrupted
