My sims keep drowning!

This has happened 3 times now. I'm playing with a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 teens. I was having a pool party in the backyard when all of a sudden the daughter drowned then died. Luckily I didn't save the game at the time so I got off the game and went back on it where it resumed to the pool party (I saved the game before my sim died).

Then, after a while, the son drowned, so I restarted the game again.

I then played it for the 3rd time and after a short while the dad drowned.

Why does this keep happening? Their needs are OK and there's also a ladder in case they want to get out.

Now the son has just drowned and he wasn't even in the pool.

    WHAT'S GOING ON! !
  • Just a guess here but.... sounds to me like it's written in the coding.

Just like when your sims are cooking food, the game code encourages the occassional badly cooked dinner, or a fire.... the coding as well decides that someone needs to drown in the pool.
  • I would get all of them a Death Flower, that way if an unfortunate accident happens, the Grim won't take your Sim away. You can get Death Flowers from a graveyard or using the buydebug cheat.

When I first tried the insane asylum challenge I gave them a pool and right away three of the Sims drowned. I restarted from a save and three different ones drowned.

I found it was the pool being too narrow that did it. Well at least, when I widened the pool they stopped drowning.
