@IreneSwift I tried and tried, but could not duplicate your problem except when I had multiple doors.
At first, after I made a fence and gate like yours, as soon as she entered the gate, she went into the garage's side door (garage is not connected to the house). When I blew up those doors, she walked into the greenhouse. After I blew up those doors (and the house's side door) and set the only remaining door (house's front door) to Front Door, she walked right inside.

Try this- make a celebrity gate like you used to have- set it as front door, and then unset as front door.
After that, remove the gate and put back yours then make your house's door the proper front door.
If that doesn't work, then I don't know what will! I'm thinking that just maybe your Celebrity gate (which is the only gate that can serve as a Front Door) may be stuck somehow even though it no longer exists.
