I've never seen them do this before.
I just added mods this week.
I do have Story Progression on but that is just the version that comes with the EA Game. I have ageing turned off and age my Sims up as I want. This often means moving a Sim into my active household so I can age them up and maybe get them a few more skills, then move them back home.
The mods I have are Nrass Overwatch, Traveler and Master Controller.
I got them to see if they made any difference to the game. They seem to fix the stuck Sims problem.
Pre Mods, if I played multiple families I would just make sure I kept in touch with them all by visiting, or having them move in with my current household, or I'd just switch between households fairly often.
That way I seem to be able to keep track of them. But I haven't had more than 3 generations before the game became unplayable. I'm hoping with mods now I will be able to get further before the game becomes unplayable.
This particular game I'm playing now did become unplayable and I wanted to have a go at some of those old games I spent so much time on before they got to the point where I couldn't play them any more. That's why I got the mods now.
I see I have at least 2 other households (unrelated to this one) that I had set up when this was my current game. It was from before WA was released.
In this game, one of the issues was the main couple became separated while I was playing another household. He moved out and I eventually found him living in a different household. I moved him back in but their relationship had broken and they didn't know each other even though they had been married with 3 children when I left them alone for too long.
Now when I opened the game with mods, they are back together again. So I don't know if the mod fixed it or if I found a save game that was before they got split up. O think the mod must have fixed it though because their eldest daughter is married and already had a child when I opened the game this time. I think that her marriage happened after her parents became strangers. I just gave up on the game at that point as I couldn't get them to be anything other than strangers. I kept the save but started a new game - in the vain hope that EA might eventually fix some of these issues.
They had a huge garden for the size of the lot. They have way too many money trees, omni plants and death flowers; and got lots of gnomes from getting metals smelted. It is a game I've always had in the back of my mind to resurrect. And its been fun so far with all these gnomes.
I'm about to post the gnome tombstone pictures now. I think they have all become tombstones now. I don't know where that killer gnome is though. His appearance reminds me of the Phantom of the Opera - or a Vampire. Maybe he's a cross between the two.
Edit: I think you just have to have the TOP on the same lot as the Wishing Well. But I like to put them close together.
