Okay, I thought I had seen a lot of gnomes in my garden before with a total of 8 from here and there  But this is just insane! How on earth did you do that?!?
Well - that is a bit of a long story if you are referring to my first picture of the garden full of Mysterious Mr Gnomes.
I had just got mods for the first time and had Over Watch and Master Controller. I wanted to see what would happen if I opened an old game. So I opened one from 2009. (I have kept a lot of the old games as backups.)
When I opened the game I got a message (like the ones you get about so many vehicles being deleted). Well my message said '42 gnomes had been rebooted'.
I do remember having a game where I got a gnome (or several) every time I set metal or gems to be smelted or cut. When I got to the active household in this game, it wasn't the one I was expecting to see. But I played it for a while. They had no gnomes. So I went on a bit of a gnome hunt. I started looking at Sims that my active household knew. I discovered it was a game where I'd played several different households and they were related to each other due to marriages and children. That was way back when I used to try to make families - I gave that up as a bad idea when the family trees kept corrupting.
I found the household with the garden and made them my active household. The lot wasn't particularly large but it was covered completely by a huge garden I'd planted. It was before Seasons, and also before World Adventures was released. I hadn't played it for such a long time. I decided to get the garden in order and got the family to start tending garden and disposing of the dead plants that resulted. I found gnomes under so many of the plants. I eventually found all 42 of them.
I never could get them all into a single screen shot though. I think there is about 39 in the one I posted on the first page here. I just thought it all so bizarre that I decided to start this thread and show everyone what that many gnomes looked like.
Then they all got old and started dying. I then ended up with 42 gnome tombstones. I discovered they are each worth 5 environment points, and the family had plenty of simoleans so instead of selling them for approximately 1,500 simoleans each I decided to keep them and use them as decor so my sims get a Beautifully Decorated moodlet from having a few of them in a room and no effort on my part to provide them with stunning decor.
Now in my new games, I put the Wishing Well on the lot so I can get my Sims to fish all year round. This happened because in one game a child got hit by a meteor and her ghost stayed around. I got her mother to make Ambrosia for her but others in the household kept eating it. She had lots of life plants from the garden but she ran out of death fish then it was winter and she couldn't catch another death fish until it got warmer so I made my houses a bit bigger and added a wishing well to them. And since I like to see the pixies I also add the Tree of Prosperity to the lot as well.
Having the Wishing Well on the lot means my Sims fish there often. And one thing that comes out of the Wishing Well is gnomes. So I am always finding them in their inventories. I often see them actually pull the gnome out of the WW but occasionally I just find the gnome in the inventory. Since the Sims have high free will they go fishing even if I haven't told them to so there tend to be a lot of gnomes in my games now. I still haven't had them all though and they can be a pest at times but I do enjoy seeing some of their antics. And I get to post their pictures here occasionally so everyone who wants to can enjoy and join in too.
