It's been about 18 sim months (two autumns) of trying. Think I may have to bite the bullet and use festival tokens and get her from the kiosk next time autumn comes round. I'm trying to use the one sim to collect them all.
I will try creating other sims with varying traits and get them going through the haunted house until McCrackernacker's mine!
And then they can gift it to Tabitha who let's face it has earned that gnome. The number of times that poor sim has been overwhelmed by emotion and walked home with squelchy shoes has paid for it :)
