Hello, my name is Cathy. Like many other folks, I have had an account for years, but am a New Member. I think it's rather funny that I was awarded the member for five years anniversary badge and can't even post an avatar on my profile! LOL
I started with the first series of Sims games somewhere between Unleashed and Makin' Magic. Sims was and is a great way to lower stress and be creative at the same time.
1. What is your favorite EP/SP and why?
My favorite EP is Supernatural. Among other things, it added fairies to the game. As for add ons, I love Dragon Valley. I sometimes wish they had made the dragons playable, but we can't have everything. Besides, they would eventually be huge beasties!
2. What is your favorite thing about the game?
My favorite thing is building. I didn't really get into building until just about the tail end of the Sims 2 EP/SP releases. I'm a role player and was trying to explain what a character's home might look like. It was then that I realized Sims was the perfect way to show people what it would look like and without laying down huge amounts of cash for home designing software.
3. Do you play with cheats? If so, which ones?
I use the testingcheats, buydebug, CFE, and MOO
4. Do you have any tips/tricks you'd like to share?
Save your game and often.
Save As is your friend!
Fog emitters are great little gizmos. Find a list of their effects and keep it somewhere handy.
Don't be afraid to try using things like CFE (Constrainfloorelevation) Just make sure you save/save as before you do in case you decide you don't like it.
5. Did you buy the Sims 4? If so, what are your favorite and least favorite things?
Yes, I did buy it.
So far, my favorite thing is being able to follow some Sims to work.
Least favorite is having to continuously refresh the testing cheats during a game session instead of them being active for the whole session.
Some of my Sims builds are posted on deviantart under the user name PrlUnicorn. I do a lot of experimenting with house plans.
Happy gaming, everyone! :D
