Maybe the OP wants a different version of those interactions. Parents can only scold their children when they catch them pranking something or when the police bring them home after breaking curfew, and then it's autonomous, even on low free will. They can only send a child to bed when the child has the sleepy moodlet. They can only tell ghost stories, no other kind.
