so ive been looking and looking and no one seems to have a solution for this. my sim is in china trying to do the pangu axe quest. but its invisible. this is the first tome she has ever been to china, but long long ago one of her ancestor did do this quest, in another town. in another china. i cannot use testingcheats/buydebug to simply place the axe back on the wall like just about every single threads suggests. it does not work. my sim cannot complete the quest and i dont know how to fix it. i really dont care about the axe itself, i cant just shift click to delete the boulders, i just want to get my visa and complete the quest properly. (plus is would be kinda nice to have the axe again)does anyone know how to fix it?

Look in your Family Inventory. That axe should have spawned there after it disappeared from the wall you set it on.

This happens all the time. You might want to try putting the ax from buydebug on a different wall such as in a vacation home and picking it up to see if that helps. I've found that if it's been done in that family at any time, this seems to happen. I wouldn't think it would since when you move to a new neighborhood and therefore a new destination, you generally lose your family tree along with all your other relationships. But it does seem to happen that way. Frustrating!

ive tried placing it at the home lot, and i tried replacing the one in pangu dungeon, and both times it vanishes on live mode. im not sure what else to try :( yeah this family has been moved to the bin and new towns so many times, there is no way the game should still connect them to the original pangu axe. so i dont really understand what is going on

When it vanished, did you have the walls up? Decorative items (which include Pangu Ax) will disappear when the walls are down after you go to live mode. The walls have to be up for it to be seen in that case. (Try it in the adventure place first though, that way you know it will get the adventure to complete if you can see it in that way.)

Exactly. I've had that happen to me before, which is why I suggested looking in the Family Inventory, not Personal Inventory. That's where it spawned to.

Try placing another axe on the wall. See if that allows you to pick it up.
Sometimes a Reset Object is in order.
I know it's frustrating not being able to complete a quest due to glitches.

One last option to try...dump your game cache, it may have become corrupted.

i clear my caches regularly. i have also tried placing another axe on the wall. all axes become invisible when entering live mode. her family inventory is empty. the axe didnt really disappear, its just invisible. it is still on the wall, i just cant see or interact with it. i dont think ive tried resetting the object tho, how do you do that?

Is this a new save or the same one you are going from this thread over at Nraas (http://nraas.wikispaces.com/share/view/73711814)? If so, you can't have more than one axe per save. Even if it was generations ago, the original axe is still in someone's inventory, so you won't be able to complete this quest. You'll have to cancel it and find the axe (if you want it) by looking at the inventories of other people in town whom may have received the axe from your sim whom got it a while ago. You can do this with mastercontroller from Nraas.

yes its the same family i asked about on nraas. im not really sure if it can even be called the same 'save' the relative that found the axe was AGES ago. they have been put into the bin and moved so many times. the sims who got it is long since dead and that house and town where he lived is long gone. i do have the axe itself, i downloaded a house that had a chest that contained the axe. so getting the item isnt the issue, i just wanted to complete the quest to get my visa. but it looks like its most likely not possible

To reset the axe (assuming you have testingcheats enabled), while in buy mode and after you've placed it on a wall (or see it there already), use/hold CTRL+Shift and left click on the object (axe.) The option to reset it should then be available. Make certain that you only have one axe before resetting--delete any additional axes you may see, reset only one of them.

If that doesn't fix your problem, I honestly do not know what will.

Try deleting the axe in the chest on the lot you have and then see if you can't see/pick up the axe in the adventure. The axe in that chest is probably what is causing you to not be able to pick up and see the one on the wall in the tomb.

i got that axe in the chest after this problem. i thought maybe just having the axe would clear the quest, but it did not. i will try deleting it and resetting the object tho

It fixed my problem. I hadn't thought of resetting the axe in buy mode. That worked.

My sim had the axe and it vanished from her inventory and she needs it to do future adventures. I was starting to think I wasn't going to be able to progress. She hasn't even been to Egypt yet so I wasn't too happy about it.
