I don't think you have any worries that EA might stop making expansion packs as long as people are buying them.
True in the past they have changed from one generation of the sims to another (such as from Sims 1 to Sims 2 and then to Sims 3) but I think unless they really have some amazing new game engine upgrade why should they put out a new version of the game when they can just keep adding expansion packs?
I mean Sims 3 was a very different version of the game from Sims 1 or 2 since it made the worlds all one combined sandbox instead of the little separate lots so that was a big change but what could they put into a Sims 4 that would change it enough to need a new game engine?
Just keep making new stuff packs nd themed expansions and we'll be happy campers (or whatever)
