I honestly hope that The Sims 3 doesn't end in 2013, the game still has SO much potential and EA would be stupid not to milk it completely dry! If The Sims 4 does arrive next year I won't be buying, I have invested so much time and money into this game through the expansions, stuff packs and the Store and I have so much still to do. Right now I am on a hiatus and have been since before Christmas simply because of the problems with Seasons and Macs (extremely frustrating) however once I purchase Windows 7 (not that I should have to shell out more money buying something I don't actually want!) and install Bootcamp on my MacBook Pro I will fully be able to engulf myself into Supernatural, Seasons and soon University Life along with the new stuff pack and various sets from the Store I have purchased/been gifted so I am really looking forward to that. Seriously EA need to sort out the endless bugs and glitches with this game before even thinking about moving on and they really need to start paying attention to the growing Mac community, they're really beginning to isolate a large slice of their fan base!
Island Paradise is my MOST requested expansion and I am literally bubbling with excitement for more information (there had better be MerSims!!!), I mean it sounds like it will add so much to the game boats, resorts, marine life, scuba diving- I can't wait! The Movie themed stuff pack and Time Travel expansion sound interesting, however I still would like to see a Business EP, Theme Park/Carnival EP, Seaside SP and several worlds that have appeared in surveys such as Dragon Valley, Fairytale, New Orleans inspired and a Venice inspired world :D
I know technology is always being developed but because of how immersive TS3 has become and looking at everything that has been added to the game since June 2009 I personally don't think enough time has passed that would make a fourth installement absolutely ground breaking, they would be far better taking there time and planning to release it around late 2015/early 2016 by then I think most Simmers would feel ready to move on and a good majority would own equipment powerful enough to play The Sims 4
