placing roofs on top of a half open structure/building

Can anyone explain to me if there is a way to place a roof over a structure that has full walls across the back of the structure but half walls at the side as I spent hours yesterday trying to make li...

Just remember the laws of physics cease to exist in Sims and you can delete what you want and the building will still be sound. But you do need colums or walls to hold up the next floor at first.
