placing roofs on top of a half open structure/building

Can anyone explain to me if there is a way to place a roof over a structure that has full walls across the back of the structure but half walls at the side as I spent hours yesterday trying to make li...

I built a huge roller coaster once, then removed all of the supports. It still worked beautifully but looked so strange with it just floating in the sky that I added a few back in just to make it look a little safer.

It was this one - it's on the Exchange.

There are 2 roller coaster tracks above ground and another scary and dark one under ground in this lot.
