I'm a little confused about the opposition to this idea. Personally, I couldn't care less whether it's included or not, though a new exercise or something would be pretty nifty, but pole dancing is, plain and simple, a form of exercise. It's almost identical to the ribbon work that lots of child gymnasts do, which is an activity that is pretty much never questioned.
What people do while pole dancing is an entirely separate issue. Often, if you think that pole dancing is a strictly "adult" activity, then you're the one with the problem. Obviously you can't see things except through an "adult" lens. In that case, you should have just as much as a problem with other features of the game.
As a result, including this activity wouldn't make that much difference to the game. Of course, some conservative people would be hesitant, but as long as it's a clothed performance/exercise, there's no big deal and I think most people would see that. It's definitely not different to the caged dancing from Sims 1 or worse than the lingerie in the next stuff pack. For those concerned parents, I have one suggestion: don't let your kids use it, if it's a real concern; then again, letting your child's Sims pole dance is no worse than letting them WooHoo.
In regards to the original post, I have not heard any confirmation of pole dancing as of yet, although there was something in the video (and I really can't remember where it was) that actually did make me think that maybe it would be included as part of an acrobat's performance.
