Ports and Houseboats
Hi fellow Simmers. I was wondering how to add houseboats to my game? Thanks in advance.

I followed the tutorial in @Rflong7 's link to add a port to Isla Paradiso next to Hobart's Hideaway. I suggest you practice in test save of your world first until you figure out how to get what you want. It took me a few tries to get the dock laid out exactly how I wanted it, particularly to get the stairs to look nice. The stilted foundations start to look funny if you edit the docks too much.
The area where I put the port had ocean waves (animation) rolling into shore. Because of those waves there was a constant sound of surf while my sims were docked at that port. The noise was a bit too loud for me so I eventually docked the houseboat elsewhere. Keep that in mind when you place the lot for the dock.
