Hello KarilynMonroe2, I certainly understand your frustration... Unfortunately, Ep's tend to work as whole and that often includes all the unwanted effects.. I know that in options one can turn of some of the effects, like with Seasons one can decide whether they want rain or snow.. Routing works only for land, it is there to keep Sims and animal from going up mountains or other areas you don't want them to go.. If you go to view in CAW you can view which areas Sims can go to and which ones they can't... I use all the EP's (I have IP) and Sp's I own when building the lots for my worlds, so yes I do have to deal with icecream trucks and the time traveler... I wish I could give you a solution, but I do recomend checking sites like Mod the Sims, they sometimes have tips on how to get around this... I wish you success with your world...
