Question About Bunk Beds???

I put a bunk bed against the wall and sometimes when my sim climbs up the ladder its usually from the outside of the house and when my sim is in bed, he or she would climb down the ladder and be outside of the house.

is that a bunk bed glitch?

should I stop putting bunk beds against the wall?

thanks for the info's...

  • I have never seen that before. I've had bunk beds against the wall and not.
Did you use moveobjects or use alt to place it closer to the wall? Have you tried replacing the bed?
I don't have any other suggestions since I've never seen, or heard of this before.
  • That has happened to me too with multiple bunkbeds. I just tend to either move the bed or place it against a wall that has something on the other side like a dresser so it blocks the path so the sim will enter and exit the bed using the ladder in the room.
  • I haven't ever seen this either, but then again my bedrooms are always upstairs so. only thing I can think of is for some reason its in the wall. maybe try moving it to a different wall to see how that works
  • I don't use moveobjects cheat much only when I have a dish I cant move on its own or a counter that is stuck for some reason I would use the move cheat, but with bunk beds I just buy it, put it against the wall, and since there are 2 ladders, one against the wall and one not, the sim usually climbs up the ladder that is against the wall, not often, sometimes. I need to take a pic of it.

what is the link to add sims pics to forums?

so sometimes I see my sims climbing the ladder from the outside and climbing out of bed and ending up outside of the house by the wall where the ladder would be from the inside of the house. I think their might be a glitch going on, its weird thou...
  • their is nothing blocking the bunk bed ladder, but for some reason the sim that takes the top bunk bed usually goes for the ladder against the wall and when I look outside they are usually just standing right next to the wall but on the outside.

I make sure if I have two bunk beds, both sims get the bottom, so usually I don't have to worry about them fighting for the top, lol. never seen it happened but with the sims I am sure it would happen. if my sims cant get up on the top bunk they tell me, and I just put them in a single bed or a sleeping bag.

everytime my sim gets up from the sleeping bag the feathers keep flying around, its like, do they have a rabbid chicken in the sleeping bag.. lol

I had this problem. My child would go into his parents room and climb through the wall to get into his bed.
To fix it I just rotated the bunkbed so that the pillow was on the other side and the ladder he used was in the room.
  • I thought they fixed that glitch! In fact, I'm sure they did. Maybe they broke it again with a later patch.
  • This was a known bug and it was supposed to be fixed in the last patch, but it still happens to me as well. Google something like Sims route to bunk beds through walls, and you'll see the problem.

I've also noticed with narrow houses, Sims sometimes will go outside and put dishes on the counter through walls too. Making the house at least four squares wide ends it. (I have very narrow houses because I start my Sims at zero dollars so they build their house one square at a time.)

  • Yep, I used to have this happen too. But I think it was fixed in a patch. I honestly haven't tried a bunk bed in a while though, so it might be broken again.

    But are you fully patched?
