1. You don't. You can only talk to them on the phone, no visiting.
2. Boarding school is like school for the kids, they learn new traits and do well.
3. If you put them in as a child they stay until they become a teen. After teen you can re-inroll them again or have them stay home and go to public school. They will come back as a young adult after they graduate.
