Rabbit Gnomes Appearing Next To Beds

Something has always perplexed me about Sims. Why do I keep getting rabbit gnomes, and next to beds no less? I don't know how long it's been going on or when it started or if it was a base-game thing...

That's the gnome of Spring. They do multiply and turn up together.
