Hi, thanks for the help :) @Nichaedemus I went through all the steps on that list and will try my game now.
@igazor What if it was a tiny cookie though  I don't know about the 30hz thing, it seemed odd to me too but I took some pictures of what my actual TV says

I mean I can't stress enough how useless I am but it seems to me like it's contradicting itself? I've historically had problems with making the TV and the computer get along so I don't really know lol.
Regarding the refresh rates, I did the thing where I made vsync set to no more than 60 and the fps counter never goes above it. I did this when I first put my new card in as it was something I read about when researching if it was a good card. I don't have any of the jagging or graphical issues people have reported either, it's literally just going fine and dandy and then boom hello desktop.
I find it interesting that this is a problem that has begun on this new machine. I'm just floating a theory here but maybe my old machine was so bad (it really was) that it didn't have enough resources to give the game in order for it to get up to that high usage and cause crashes. Do you think it would work if I could somehow restrict it so the game would not receive more than say 3.5GB of resources? Is that even a thing you can do?
