Recently gone back to sims 3...

And asking myself every second why in the world I ever left it. :D

When I was playing Sims 3, I hadn't collected all the packs (at least not the little ones), and I have to say I probably didn't even do half of the stuff available in this game. When Sims 4 came out I just jumped to it, not realizing at all that it was going to be so...different. But with my new laptop, it's so easy to play Sims 3 on the highest settings, and now that it's not lagging, I'm seeing how (to me) that this game is so much better. Open Worlds, real personality, almost endless customization, so much stuff to do and explore, I feel like it's a game I can play for hours and not get bored. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally attached to my Sims 4 characters and the story I've made for them, but I'm currently only playing with one sim in sims 3 and it's so much fun, and I feel like I have so much stuff to do. It's almost overwhelming, but in a really good way. I don't even need mods, they're just minor enhancements.

I wonder, is there anyone else recently coming back to sims 3 and are loving it?

  • Thank you. I forgot how much fun Sims 3 could be. It was mine & my daughter's 1st Sims game ever back in 2011. I never even heard or saw a Sims game before that. I was very surprised to hear that there was even a Sims City PC game back in 1989.
  • I was watching my sim watching action TV in Sims 4 and realized how much I missed the firefighter career and exploring the tombs in World Adventures. I started a new game with a couple who are adventurers and plan to start a second game of supernaturals. I want to play with werewolves, fairies, vampires and witches in a game where the sims actually have consequences and personalities! I have always loved Sims 3 and am looking forward to spending more time playing my new games! Oh, and I can have cows, chickens, AND horses on my farm!
  • @maggiemae8135 - you know that you can also have sheep in your game too if you play with mods.

    Thank you Lyralei at MTS.
  • I played Sims 2 then went to Sims 4. It felt like they were reaching for something else with 4. They tried to redo Sims 2 without the follow through on players' interactional gameplay along with zero Sim characters emotions.

I then got into Sims 3 by buying a black friday sale on steam and will do it again this year to complete the expansions. Sims 3 is so much fun. So far haven't dealt with the legendary lag or crashed files. Sims 2 was prone to crash after creating 3 generations.
