Have you done the usual stuff to reduce lag? Make sure the game is regonizing your graphics card, increase the texture memory it can use etc, etc. I used to have a problem with crashing, but after dedicating more texture memory to the game it never did again.
Nraas storyprogression may lag your game to oblivion if your PC is old. What sort of lag do you have? If you have pie menu lag (lagging when clicking on sim) a lot of store content causes that.
You should always have v-sync on for it because TS3 does not limit FPS -at all-.
@Marinuttonen If you don't mind, I would love if you could explain this further. First I'll answer what you asked.
I have a modern PC. I own a gtx 1060 6gb, 16gb of ram and a Ryzen 5 2600 CPU. This hardware is all from 2016-17 and later.
I have story progression installed. I have a few Sims 3 Store bundles installed, yet only 7 expansions and no stuff packs. But I do get pie menu lag every now and then.
I haven't done much to reduce lag. The game probably doesn't recognize my card but since it shows up in my GeForce Experience (which I use to optimize settings) I thought it didn't matter. If it indeed does, do you happen to have a link on how to do that? Also the one to increase texture memory. Haven't done it so I would love to know how. I might just google it as well.
The type of lag I experience is the game freezing for a few milliseconds. It's kind of like the Island paradise lag but in all worlds. If I have a sim walk towards a direction for example, the sim will take steps then suddenly freeze for a few tiny milliseconds and then unfreeze. This will happen every 5-20 seconds. The animations are also very laggy, with sims stopping and continuing. Turning the camera also causes these "freeze moments".
Thanks again for your help btw.
