Savvy Sellers Collection Questions

I was thinking of getting the savvy sellers collection, but first I wanted to know what exactly can be sold. I have attempted to find the information I'm looking for and found some information on the subject, but not everything.

Question #1:
Say you have an object such as a couch that came with the original game, but you updated it with different textures, maybe even custom textures. Can you sell this couch, with the included updated textures, with the savvy sellers collection in a shop?

Question #2:
Just out of curiosity, can you sell completely custom content objects, such as actual objects created by other users, with the savvy sellers collection?

  • Hello and welcome to the forums... :)

This is a picture of some of the stuff from ATS3 that I use a lot in my games on the shelves that come with the Savvy Sellers Collection... :)

The Christmas trees in the middle and by the fence is also from ATS3 as they are converted items from TS2 and TS4. I also had did a recolor of one of my trees that is by the building to change the snowflake color... :)

This site that I just linked is very helpful on explaining how to use the stuff in the game... :)

    http://aznsensei.blogspot.com/2013/09/savvy-sellers-collection-tutorial-how.html

And this is from the site listed above telling you what you can and can't sell... :)

Things you CAN and CANNOT Sell:

    CAN:
    - Build/Buy Objects that have values on them

    CANNOT:
    - Food
    - Harvestables
    - Collectibles
    - Craftables like Paintings, Sculptures, and Inventions
    - Relics in World Adventures

Now I will say that if you place the Savvy Sellers rugs right under a window or a hanging light that they also can be brought as the rugs isn't set up to specific what it is you are trying to sell.
  • Thank you for the welcome! :)

So, items from ATS3 can be sold with the savvy sellers collection then?

Cute trees! I'm assuming those rugs are the ones that come with the savvy sellers collection, and so items with customized textures or colors can be sold with the savvy sellers collection?

Sorry, I just want to be sure about this before I buy it because the main reason I want to buy it is to sell furniture or other items that I have used custom textures on. If this can't be done then I have no reason to buy it, and if I don't know for sure then I won't spend the money on it. :/ Thanks again for your help. Thanks for the link, I read the guide from AznSensei, but I didn't see the exact answer to my questions there.

  • You're welcome. It's my pleasure... :)

And thank you for the compliment on the trees... :)

Yes you can change the colors of the rugs to match the décor inside of your shop. I tend to change the colors as I'm not too crazy about design on them. I understand where you're coming from as I know that you don't want to get buyers remorse of the set isn't what you expect. This is actually my second shop that I had made using the set. The first one was a SimsMart with a grocery section, a bakery using the bakery set from the store, an electronics department and clothing section using the clothing displays from Into the Future. But that store is no more as my hard drive had upped and died on me last May, so I had to get another hard drive and reinstall my game and any CC that I had from ATS3 and any store content that was stored on a disc as I had made a back-up of my downloaded content.
  • @lisasc360 Thanks so much for posting a link to the tutorial! Yesterday I was in Buy Mode and ran across some of my Savvy Seller stuff and remembered I was going to need to look up a tutorial on how to use it. Now I don't have to--look it up that is.

@LuminalPyxie I got this set months back but haven't used it yet. After a few weeks of clicking ads for points I'd managed to acquire about half the store content. I don't imagine all my Sims will run businesses like this but I can definitely see it happening at some point. For TS2 OFB was my favorite expansion pack, only made better by all the other expansion packs. Back then most of my Sims had family-run businesses of one type or another and it was that experience that has made me since play mostly self-employed Sims in TS3.
  • I know this is old, but wanted to ask people who have a lot of experience with savvy seller... for those that use the cash register & hire a cashier, is there a way to turn off the notifications when people don't go to work & have to be replaced by someone else?? I love the cash register option & use it at many locations, but SO annoyed by the constant notifications at the start of every shift...
