Thanks for the comments, I was going to use this for your next challenge, but then I was unsure if it was what you were looking for. That's the reason I did not show any pictures. I did have trouble with the roof though. It was difficult on this house for some reason, I guess because it was slanted on the right side.
And, one question on this house here.
I am trying to get a CFE fence where the balcony is, but I can't seem to get it worked out. I have one in the front entrance as you see in the picture; but how would I get one on the second level.
And here I have it again by the pool.

kquinn,
A cottage is a really typical type of house and kind of old fashioned. This is more of a modern house; some from it's style and much from it's wall covering. Picture a little house with maybe a picket fence and maybe a little old lady sitting on the porch in her rocking chair. I'm not saying it has to have an old lady sitting on the porch in a rocking chair, or even a picket fence, but this is more of a vision of the kind of house a cottage is.
I'll be more explanatory when I start the challenge tomorrow on the 26th on that thread. I suppose to have done it today but got carried away with other things; sorry.
Now, as far as building on the second floor; you have to build a second wall onto the first one to build onto the second floor. You also have to take in account your foundation if you have one. In this one you do, so that means you have to go a little deeper with the hole to put your wall into. There are other factors too. I do know you used CFE on that side of the building because you have a thing on top that should disappear though once you go back in there.
Personally, I think the house would look better with some modern fence. But that's just me. The middle portion of roof with the window looks a little odd as far as the roof angle compared against the regular roof. Maybe you could lower it a little to match the main roof.
