I have a problem on my sims game

I had just got the new expansion pack Sims3 generation and have downloaded the latest patch but my sims are age meter is frozen aging is enabled i've found nothing wrong with my computer or anything if anyone is having the same problem how did you fix it. I'm tired of having a toddler there annoying Thanks.
