Try setting the in game (game, options) resolution to 1024X768 and see if that helps. Are the items third party? Did you get the store patch Should have. Don't set the resolution in the device driver set it in the options page of the game. I have seen this problem posted a few times but I don't think anyone posted a solution. If you move the sim to another area does the problem change (I'm thinking Seasons fog)?
