If you open Options while in game and go to the last tab ... unchecked occults doesn't get rid of existing occults, just prevents new ones.

I do also have ghosts, but they don’t bother me.
I am not anti occults, but I am just curious if the game runs smoother without them. I tried the options tabs and the mailbox, but that did not work for the reasons that you both mentioned. Now I understand that I need to evict all occults, and I need to use the mailbox cheat repeatedly. THANKS!!
I think Ghosts might be basegame and too integral to remove. Ambitions includes a ghost hunter career. I have seen a video about ghost babies. I am content to leave those in and might even take the opportunity to make them the center of my gameplay.
I stripped my game down to just the following games after uninstalling the rest of them:
Basegame
Ambitions
Generations
World Adventures
Seasons
Diesel Stuff
Outdoor Living
In my research, I learned that pets slow down the game for many of the same reasons as occults. I uninstalled the Pets pack.
I only have 3 worlds: Sunset Valley, Twinbrooks, and Adventureland. I have never played Twinbrooks and I am curious about the customization options for Adventureland.
I can only travel to these destinations: China, Egypt, and France.
I think Late Night first added the vampires and then Supernatural expanded upon them. I am not sure what I would end out with if I added back in Late Night but not Supernatural. I don't think I have a lunar cycle at all, so I am not sure what happens when I look at the sky. I forgot to look. I just started this new save last night.
