Anything that's not native resolution isn't going to fit the screen right. You can hook up the laptop up to a monitor or TV via HDMI cable. This might help with the text being too tiny in 1920 x 1080. Not really a great option if you need to be mobile with the laptop.
I use both the Control Panel & Nvidia Inspector... But you should only need the Control Panel unless it's not working for you then I'd suggest Nvidia Inspector. Have you tried following the instructions given here?
