Sims 3: Slow sim movement

I just recently bought sims 3 and all the dlc on steam. I noticed something annoying though while playing, mostly sims taking longer to move around stuff. Making actions slow to do, because they kept going backwards then forwards to move past things.

Is there away to fix my sims go here hitbox and not take as long? They seem to get stuck when trying to move past other sims or pets, even furniture.
