That is odd, because before I installed this patch, I had long resolved to return to main menu first before quitting the game from there otherwise my screen would remain pitch dark forever.

I use Core Temp to monitor. Usually in Sims 3 my CPU runs at about 65c occasionally going up to 68c. With this patch installed, it was running at 67c and went up to 71c occasionally. These are acceptable temperatures. I don't think it's really necessary to constantly monitor temps, but Sims games are so CPU intensive I just wanted to make sure it was okay when my fans kicked into overdrive.
My CPU temp was like 67-70 Celsius something but with this mod it got to constantly above 70 Celsius (~73°C), too. Well, I do play on a laptop though so there’s that.
