I tried it, and it's fantastic. I mean just really wonderful in a lot of ways. CAS and Buy mode catalogs and patterns load noticeably faster, and the game feels smoother as well.I also noticed that a weird fps drop I normally get when panning over a certain pond is just gone. I do have a framerate cap in place, so that might be masking a smaller drop, but the normal stutter I'd see at the same time is mostly gone as well. The lot in question is the Delaney home lot in Dragon Valley, and I tested on both of the high water settings, with all other graphics maxed out except for high-detail lots.This did not have any effect on my graphics card, either in temperature or workload.A warning to anyone playing on a borderline system: this will increase the load on your processor, probably to a significant extent depending on the setting you use for this tool. So if the two cores that handle Sims 3 are already close to maxed out, or your CPU is already running hot, this tool is probably not for you. On the other hand, you can edit the accompanying text file to set a lower TPS: try 100 or less rather than the default 500. (The default Sims 3 setting is 30.) And use a hardware monitoring tool like CPU-Z or hwinfo to check temperatures and the load on each CPU core.

I tried it earlier. Had to exempt the exe file from McAfee because it kept putting it on the watch list.The loading time for patterns definitely improved and the transition of multiple icons as well as notifications are now smoother than before; however, I did notice some fps drops on my part (a decrease from 55-60fps to 45-55fps).My game also crashed the moment I wanted to return to the main menu ._. it has never crashed on my PC until I installed the patch.And not sure about you guys, but my CAS music stopped after playing 1 track.

I tried this mod last night (the Origin one) and I must say that I noticed a significant difference. I used the default settings. Switching between lots was much faster as well as load times even on my largest lots. I did notice a bit of lag when my sim was running between lots but I don't have a top of the line PC and I have all my options on the highest settings. Panning around the world in map view was a joy with no lag at all. Buy and build mode showed the most difference. Patterns loaded fast and I was able to quickly recolor objects as well as turning the camera without noticeable lag. I didn't try creating a sim but from what I've seen on the videos, that is supposed to be improved as well. I will try that out today. I used this mod without any of my custom or store content and will add that to my game and see if it helps with all the added junk I have. I didn't notice the music stopping as mentioned by Kelvin and will keep my ear peeled for that.@Onverser - according to the mod creator - "that error can be fixed by increasing the “Delay” value in TS3Patch.txt, around 500-1000 should work!"I think this mod is a game changer!

What is this witchcraft? I generally don't have problems with performance, but I'll still use it as everything feels a bit snappier. It causes my CPU to run a little hotter and my fans to run a bit harder, but nothing too bad. I am more scared at this point of my game instantly shutting itself down when I wanted to return to the main menu, that was something I was not expecting at all.The load time for patterns was significantly reduced and when you now rotate a sim in CAS it is definitely apparent that the motion is way smoother than before; though apart from these nice touches to the game, I don’t think my game was loaded faster or experienced less lag than without the mod.I had it uninstalled for the time being, will keep an eye out for the developments though. It would be a great mod if it improves your gaming experience but unfortunately for me, it didn’t change much.

Make the debug variable 1 to see a pop up window telling you if the patch works correctly or not while launching the game.

Or you can also just check build/buy object preview spinning speed when you click on an object. It is noticeably faster compared to non-patched game.

sims 3 has always run relatively smooth for me anyway except CAS so i can't really tell by eye. trying to do it by feel can lead to confirmation bias is all (like a placebo effect)

Gonna be honest, I haven't read completely through this thread but to add my two measly cents, this mod does work amazingly for me. Buy and build mode catalogue items load a lot faster and the game feels smoother! I play on an MSI gaming laptop and I haven't noticed much of a difference except for slightly warmer temps. But there's a built in fan that I can turn on which takes care of that issue quite nicely. I highly recommend the mod o:)

I almost passed out when I installed this and Cas loaded in 2 seconds. This game has never been this fast.

I am using it and wow what a difference! Noticeable espeically in CAS and switching between build/buy modes i also have lots of mods!

Downloaded the patch from watching youtuber MaryMew's overview of it and now my game loads faster than it has in the past!

My laptop is already pretty toasty (could toast grilled cheese on it) so I'm gonna pass on this one till I get my gaming desktop (whenever the heck that is).

I tried this patch because I was curious. I've never had a lot of lag in TS3 because I've always had a decent graphics card and more than enough RAM. Plus I do have the "fixed worlds" installed and NRAAS mods.

And I have to say, it's pretty incredible! Especially when CASt'ing. I never really had lag while recoloring stuff, but it would take a few seconds to load all of the patterns in each category, with this patch it's literally loaded in seconds! You still have to scroll down to the bottom of the pattern category until it's fully loaded but mine is probably worse because I have almost 4000 patterns installed.

My load times were also cut down, even starting a new game in a world I haven't played in, it was probably 1/2 the load time to what it normally would be.

And actual gameplay, was smooth like butter! Seriously, TS4 actually has a little more hesitation than TS3 does with this patch.

Overall, I'm super happy with it!

I tried it on two different PC using all EP's and SP's. The first one (much older and less performant) takes twice as much time to launch. Actually, it seems to hang a while launching Origin. If Origin is already on, there's only a slight difference. Once in however the game runs even smother than when I launch it with the base game alone.

The patch makes the game run top notch on the second computer.
