For The Sims 4:
- Sims 3 has unbearably long loading times > Sims 4 is much better optimised
Both games are 32 bit applications and therefore both games will suffer from long load times regardless of PC. Sims 4 might be slightly more optimised; however we will only know that when the game is released. The fact that Sims 4 is 32 bit is a freaking joke. We are in 2014 EA!
- Sims 3 generates many ugly NPCs with stupid clothing combinations which fill my town and I have to make-over > Sims 4 matches clothes in a much better way
You have no way of knowing this. The game has not been released and therefore you could not possibly know this.
- Sims 3 lots are often empty or lacking in visitors unless I throw a party > Sims 4 lots are much busier
You could not possibly know this either, as the game has not been released. This problem in Sims 3 was solved easily with mods and I am sure it will be solved with mods in Sims 4 because I think it will be no different as both are still 32 bit applications.
- Sims 3 social interactions are often bland > Sims 4 has multitasking and more expressive Sims
You could not possibly know this until you play the game. Multitasking sounds great, but I foresee some odd bugs occurring; but I could be wrong (doubt it). As for the whole rebranded moodlets system called emotions... I still can't believe people fall for this selling point.
- Sims 4 Sims look much better > but there's bloom, dark interior lighting, flat textures and clay hair
Nothing more than opinion, but granted, you did say this was your list.
Against The Sims 4:
- Sims 3 has tons of content including toddlers, family trees, basic careers like business, cars > Sims 4 has many many missing base game features
This alone should be enough for people not to buy the game, but fools' are easily parted with their gold. I often read people claiming they are sceptical about the quality of Sims 4 but they will try it anyway and then decide if it is a good game... that statement is an oxymoron. Once you have bought the game you are sending the message to EA that what they did was good regardless of what you think afterwards.
Even worse, people don't realise that they have fallen for the hook that EA has swung at them, because they may not like the Sims 4, but EA will cleverly put some feature that has always been in base games into the first expansion pack and the same person who bought the base game, and realised it was rubbish, will get lured into buying the first expansion pack in a foolish notion of things getting better.
- Sims 3 babies, while far from perfect, can be taken to community lots, can be used with rocking chairs, baby mats, swings and strollers > Sims 4 babies are forever confined to their bassinet
For a life simulator I would state that this is game breaking, but I am sure the "EA is amazing and can do no harm" club will rationalize it.
- Sims 3 has Create a Style which offers infinite customisation > Sims 4 loads faster but has presets only, many of which do not match each other
More reasons to make a stand and not buy Sims 4. I suppose if you enjoy every home you build looking the same or close to the same, then this is the game for you!
- Sims 3 has a vast open world > Sims 4 has a tiny closed world with loading screens and decor houses
My biggest gripe with Sims 4 since the announcement was that there was no defining feature that made me go, "OMG I am excited!". Nothing. Sims 2 had ageing and children etcetera, which was a major jump from Sims 1 and Sims 3 had the open world which again was a huge step forward. Sims 4 has... loads of cut content?
- Sims 4 lets me populate the town with my own townies > but the world is tiny and I can't make my own neighbourhoods
More reasons to not buy Sims 4. Every argument you read about why people are going to buy Sims 4 are just delusions of grandeur or emotions!! Nothing substantial. Perhaps people in this day and age are more willing to just throw their money at rubbish instead of making a stand, or perhaps people are just too loaded with cash and need to burn it. Who knows.
With mods you can populate your own town in Sims 3 as well. NRAAS story progression is the best thing ever released for Sims 3.
I'm not entirely happy with The Sims 3, I find the things that annoy me most have been remedied in Sims 4. However, to get those it seems I would have to sacrifice a lot of other features I love, so at the moment I don't think it would be worth it. I might be tempted after some CC and EPs come out though...
Balanced and respectful arguments only please. :) And the can of worms has just been opened...
What has been remedied?
