Loading screens in TS4 sound tedious, I'd rather the one or two long loading screens in TS3. It gives me time to do something else.
In all the videos I've seen of the game play, the loading screens in the Sims 4 are very short. In fact eventually once you get used to them, you might barely notice them at all.
Plus, lots still had to load in the Sims 3, despite the lack of loading screens, and my machine would often stall for a minute while one was loading. I didn't know if the game had completely stopped working or if it was just busy rendering a highly detailed lot. Also it was often next to impossible to update maps that were made prior to the release of the latest expansion pack. Without the ability to freely travel between worlds without losing your relationships, and sell your private property, you were pretty much limited to whatever was in your main hood and what few subhoods they gave us. The University subhood couldn't even be visited by children or teens without a mod, so we still had to place things like bowling allies and comic book stores on your map somewhere if you wanted them to have access to them.
