Pricing is one thing but the main point is value for money.
Give me an expensive store set for TS3 over a scaled down TS4 GP any day.
In TS3 if you where to download a world, that world would be open and you would know what to expect. You could place more lots if you want, or you could change existing ones from residential to community or vice versa.
In TS4, if you where to buy an SP lets say, you would be limited on editing the colours of clothing whereas in TS3 you have CASt.
The TS3 EPs where rich as well while the TS4 EPs, at least from what I have seen have mixed reactions usually leaning towards negative.
So while TS4 is on discount, it still does not appear to provide the same value for money that TS3 does and TS3 is still selling. The EPs, the SPs and store content are still being brought by Simmers wishing to complete their collection after either not being impressed with TS4 or not moving onto TS4 anyway.
I have even seen a few 'new' players buy TS3 after having only played TS4.
The price seems to have nothing to do with it, it is all about value for money and it seems that TS3 has more value
