I don't find either style to be terribly realistic, as in like real people. Sims 3 is doll-like; Sims 4, cartoony. I like (some of) the sims in both games, usually player-made. Rarely do I see a townie or NPC in either game that I particularly like, and after being with the series since the start, I don't have any expectations that I'm likely to.
Edited to add: I hope that didn't sound as though I don't appreciate your sim(s) - thinking only the second one is yours. They're cute. I was only trying to talk about general art styles.
