A lot of the wishes sims roll are just plain ridiculous because they are overdone. Like the wish to have pillow fights, which my sims started to roll every time they made a new friend after installing Generations. Really? How many people do you know that you would want to pillow fight with? Sure, there could be something wrong with me, but I don't believe I have wanted to pillow fight (now or in my youth) with anyone! Another wish that really annoys me is the wish to buy an indoor planter which is rolled by every member of the family, regardless of whether they garden, which I believe started after I installed Supernatural recently.
Let your sims' actions guide you, rather than their wishes. Sure, seeing some wishes gives us warm fuzzies and "validates" the relationships we put our sims in but, when all is said and done, a sim will tell you by their actions if they actually want to be close to another sim. I see wishes merely as suggestions as to what you could do next with your sim, especially for those new to the game and have no idea what's available or what can be done.
