Snow day, I forgot what to do.

It should all be in the Seasons EP. Just have to look for them. There's a pile and a tree.

The Christmas tree is in lights, floor lights to be specific.

I *think* you just get the pile of gifts when you throw a gift-giving party, and it shows up on its own. If it can be purchased (placed by us whenever we want), then yeah, I'd look in the Seasons collection or in buydebug - but I don't recall that being an option. Thinking maybe the ability to purchase it was/is a mod thing. Just FYI, if you don't have enough open floor space for it, the game won't be able to spawn a gift pile when you host your party.

Once you schedule a gift giving party, the gift giving rug appears two sim hours or so before the party is due to start. As the guests arrive, they place their gifts there, but the gifts that are supposed to be from your household members will already be there. So there will be enough gifts for each sim to get one, unless somebody leaves before the gifts are opened, or is busy playing outside and doesn't come in. Then some sims will get more than one.

There is a pile of gifts in the decor section of the buy catalog, but they are just for decoration and can't be opened. I think that decor item came with a free holiday store set.

Just to clarify things a little, there are Snow Days and there is Snowflake Day.

A Snow Day means the weather is bad and school is canceled. It's not a holiday.

Snowflake Day is the winter holiday. You may celebrate it with a party if you like, but it's not actually mandatory and the party does not have to be on the actual holiday (I don't think). And yes, obtaining a functional gift pile without throwing an official Gift Giving Party requires a mod.

Thanks for asking this. My smallest is fixing to go to pre-school and I plan to play S3 again, as I love it more than S4. I have had problems in the past with that day and getting gifts. I'm pretty sure someone also stated that the room you are in when making the party should be the room the rug appears. If that is true then that is why many couldn't access the rug for gift giving as the rooms they were in when starting the party didn't have enough room for the rug. I haven't tested, but I think that is why I had loads of space where I wanted the party, but couldn't get it to come up. Again, thanks for asking this as that and the ability to get the Unicorn fast without downloads is two things I wanted to know the most.

One of the bugs that affected my game has to do with fences and gates. I play with celebrities and supernatural. I usually completely fence my property to keep out paparazzi and zombies. I don't know if it is all of the gates or just the one you can set open or closed, but the game thinks that is your front door. And when it looks like your fence gate is your front door, there are no floors, walls etc. for it to figure out where to put the presents. Even setting the front door didn't work. So now I remove the gates for the presents to spawn and put them back so the guests can get in!!

I have a house that's completely fenced in and didn't have this problem with it putting the presents out on the ground. Are you making sure that when you call your guests to invite them to the party that you're in the room that you want the party to be in? The presents are supposed to show up in the room that you've placed the invite calls in.

@lisasc360 I never heard of the glitch with what room you were in when you call to invite people to the party so I have not tested that. I found a thread about the celebrity gate that you can open, close and set people allowed to enter like a door causing a problem with the gift-giving party. I use that gate a lot and it solved the problem for that game, so I have continued with the gate correction and have not had a problem. I will need to test the room theory and see. :)

Ok. I must be going blind. I have searched all of the lights section, the living room, den, and the entire Seasons collection in both buy and build modes and I cannot find that Xmas tree. I have all EPs including Seasons and all stuff packs (but very little of the Store) which has all been downloaded and installed from Steam.

@Rhiannon58 - There is no Christmas tree in the game or its packs. Let's remember that not everyone celebrates Christmas, the in-game holiday is Snowflake Day. ;)

There are CC options, but the EA one is available from the store in a holiday pack, one of several free to obtain ones.
