How about the Collection Helper LTR? It's a device that goes in your sim's personal inventory and allows you to see where objects like this are on the Map View screen. You could also look for life fruit at the Consignment Store and the produce carts from the Al Fresco Market/Monte Vista if you have those, some may show up once in a while.
