I noticed this the other day and got really excited, then really confused. I'm seriously hoping that someone out there can help me out. I have the Origin version. I own all EP's and just need 3 SP's to finally complete my collection.
I've read that a person can buy the Steam version(s) and use the keys to activate them on Origin, but before I try to do this, I was hoping if someone could tell me if I would actually need to download/install the Steam version(s) in order to get said keys, or if I can get them just by purchasing (and if so, how). ....If anyone can provide clarification on how this all works, it would be GREATLY appreciated!
@Symb10sis , you don't need to install the Steam versions. You do need to install the Steam client program though. You'll need to log into the Steam client, go to your Library, and then click on the entry for the Sims 3 (after purchasing the EPs, of course). On the right is a link "CD KEY' which will list your CD keys for each EP you buy (and the base game). Copy to the clipboard and paste into Origin's register a game field.

Thank you so much for sharing this sale! But I am bummed since all of my Sims 3 games are through Origin. Would I have to get Steam's base game just to participate in this sale? :(
@vochick , Yes. Steam won't sell you EPs/SPs unless you own the base game from them. You also cannot mix Steam and Origin/disk installs. However, you can purchase from Steam, register those purchases on Origin, then install everything from Origin. You cannot do the reverse though.
